SpletSummary: The Skye Trail is a long distance footpath travelling along a south to north line along the longest length of the Isle of Skye visiting both east and west coasts and traversing mountain and moorland regions. SpletThis line on the Isle of Skye connected marble and limestone quarries at Kilbride near Loch Cill to a pier at Broadford. It was opened by Skye Marble Ltd in 1910 and closed in 1913. From 1910 a locomotive was used, horse traction being used for most of the line's life. The line was 3ft with 2ft tramways within the quarries.
